Step 1) Run your washing machine through a cycle on empty to clean it.
Step 2) Zip up all the zippers and turn the jacket inside out.
Step 3) Place the jacket in a front-loading washing machine on the gentle cycle.
While top-loading washing machines have agitators that can rip the fabric on your jacket, the gentle cycle on front-loading washing machines doesn’t agitate. Therefore, make sure that you only use a front-loading machine on the gentle cycle to protect the fabric from tears or snags. As an extra precaution, set the washing machine on low heat as well. Keeping the water temperature under 86 °F (30 °C) will help protect the synthetic fabric from damage. Avoid putting anything else in the wash with your jacket to protect the fabric.
Step 4) Add a detergent for synthetic fabrics and run the gentle wash cycle.
Once the jacket is in the washing machine, add a detergent made for synthetic or sporting fabrics to ensure that your jacket isn’t damaged. If the detergent bottle doesn’t specify how much you need to use for a single item, add about 3 ounces (85 g). Then, press the start button to run the jacket through the gentle cycle. Synthetic insulated jackets are sensitive to most detergents, as these tend to contain fragrances and harsh chemicals that can damage the insulation. •You can also use fragrance-free Woolite, as it tends to be gentle enough on synthetic insulation.
Step 4) Sit Back and relax.
wait until your jacket dry. Pro Tip: Always store your synthetic jacket uncompressed with room to stretch out. For instance, if you have a synthetic jacket you aren’t using, keep it on a hanger so that it can breathe and maintain its shape better.
